80 per cent subsidy on farm pumpsets in AP
62 acres of land were allotted to the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, at the rate of Rs 1.5 lakh an acre.

The State Government on Friday announced it would provide 80 per cent subsidy to farmers fixing power saving devices such as capacitors and better quality pump sets in farm lands.
It is estimated that one farm sector ISI mark power motor costs about Rs 15,000 and the State would bear about Rs 12,000 of the total cost and the farmer the balance.
While there will be investment initially, the savings brought about in the form of lower power sector consumption by the farm sector due to superior motors, would bring long term gains, said the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The State provides free power to the farm sector users.
Ban on Maoists extended
In another important development, the State Government has decided to extend the ban on the banned Maoists groups by one more year. The current ban expires later this month.
The State Cabinet that met here today, allotted 62 acres of land to the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, at the rate of Rs 1.5 lakh per acre, compared to the estimated current market price of about Rs 90 crore.
This decision was taken after the assurance made by the Chief Minister during his recent visit to the institute.
The Government allotted about 12 acres to Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute at Vattinagulapally in Ranga Reddy district for setting up a National Management Academy.
The St. Ann's Academy was allotted 20 acres at a nominal price for setting up an educational institute.
The State Cabinet decided to approve the proposal for delimitation of the Council Constituencies for determining the graduates, teachers and local authorities constituencies taking the district as a unit.
The Chief Minister, who presided over the Cabinet meeting, approved the list of qualifications equivalent to graduation.
