SBI Tiruchi module gives farm loans

The Tiruchimodule of State Bank of India has extended financial assistance to the tune of Rs 1,021 crore up to March 2006 for agricultural activities, to register a growth of 173 per cent over the budgeted level. It ranked top in the Chennai Circle of the bank in financing agricultural activities, said the Assistant General Manager of the bank, Tiruchi Zonal Office - Region I, Mr Mohamed Abukalam. He was delivering his presidential address at the sugarcane technology seminar organised at Lalgudi town recently by the Agricultural Development Branch of SBI, Kattur.

The General Manager, Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Ltd, Kattur, Mr S. Sivaraj, said the mill has proposed to commission another unit at Tirumanur by December.
