Spot rubber prices bounce back

Spot rubber prices bounced back on Monday. The market gained further strength as covering groups and purchase agents turned active observing the bullish international markets. In the domestic scene, sellers stayed back expecting the trend to continue in the succeeding days. Sheet rubber moved up to Rs 93.00 from Rs 91.00 a kg both Kottayam and Kochi on renewed buying interest.

Futures weak

The rubber futures turned weak on NMCE possibly on profit booking from traders. The August delivery was quoted at Rs 92.00 (Rs 93.55), September at Rs 89.95 (Rs 91.16), October at Rs 88.25 (Rs 90.27) and November at Rs 87.40 (Rs 90.00 ) per kg for RSS 4.

Rubber prices (Rs a kg) were: RSS-4: Rs 93 (Rs 91); RSS-5: Rs 90 (Rs 88.50); ungraded: Rs 87 (Rs 86); ISNR 20: Rs 89 (Rs 88) and latex 60 per cent: Rs 76.30 (Rs 75.24).
