The Rs 10-face value Marico stock, which closed at Rs 488.15 on the NSE, is currently discounting its 2007 estimated earnings and 2008 estimated earnings of Rs 20.9 and Rs 25.4 at 23.3x and 19.2x respectively. With organic and inorganic growth options contributing to the numbers, the company is expected to report decent earnings growth over the next few years. However, increasing tax burden due to expiry of tax benefits at manufacturing units could maintain the pressure on the net profit growth, some sections feel.
