Events Web Extras - Foods & Food Processing CMPi to host food ingredients meet Arushi Sen
Mumbai , July 28 CMP Information (CMPi), a division of United Business Media, is launching its first food ingredients event in the country this September in Mumbai. The event, called Food Ingredients Business Meeting & Conference, will be a one-day affair and will give the players in the Indian industry a chance to interact with and tie up with international players. Speaking to Business Line, Ms Eliane van Doom, Group Exhibitions Director, Food Ingredients Portfolio, said: "We are coming to India because it has one of the most exciting food ingredients market. Its growing very fast as food is a very big issue on the Government's agenda. There are so many raw materials in India but processing is yet to `grow up'. We also want to see if we can help expand exports."
This year's programme will basically consist of a conference plus a small tabletop exhibition. About 250 Indian participants are expected; there will be 20 international sponsors who will present their products.
"The aim is for it to be a networking event," said Ms van Doom.
"We hope to make this a regular event in India. There's a lot of interest in India but we want to start with quality events; we want to keep the profile as clean as possible," said Ms Haf Cennydd, Event Manager, Emerging Markets.
The Netherlands office of CMPi has been organising pharmaceutical, natural, health and food ingredient trade shows since 1986.
