FDI in agriculture

This is with reference to the editorial "Sowing FDI" (Business Line, July 25): It is true that 100 per cent FDI in the agricultural sector will be a boost for farmers. Plantations of such crops as Jatropha curacas, Pongamia and other types of oil-bearing trees could be cultivated.

The foreign investment will not create problems for farmers, in fact, it will help them earn more and improve their life-styles.

S. A. Alagarsamy
