Letters Mumbai blasts
Mumbai blasts have emphasised the need for better preparedness. First, better and improved intelligence systems. Better coordination between investigating authorities is also necessary. Politicians should be advised against visiting such spots in the immediate aftermath, so that the state machinery can concentrate on the investigation and take care of the immediate requirements, rather than attending on the politicians. The security machinery also gets strained in such situations, when politicians descend on the scene. S. Krithivasan Mumbai
