A two-day workshop on `Business research methodology' was held at the Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management at Nitte in Udupi district on July 23 and 24. Inaugurating the workshop, Dr Ram Cnaan, professor from Pennsylvania University, said that future of the world lies in research and creation of knowledge. Progress in education is possible only when the universities give importance for research, he said. Dr N.K. Thingalaya, Chairman of the Academic Council of the institute, said that the kind of the research followed in some of the Indian universities is a cause for concern. There is a need to employ modern methods to improve the quality of research, he added. Prof M.S. Moodithaya, Director of the institute, presided over the inaugural function.
