Our Bureau

Hyderabad, July 19

Airtel today announced the launch of fixed wireless phone (FWP) services targeting home users in Andhra Pradesh.

Airtel is targeting a large mobile base of about 2.2 million in the State to take to this offer so that a user of mobile phone and fixed wireless phone would have the advantage of both services and be offered the convenience of a single bill.

Speaking to newspersons today, the CEO of Bharti Airtel Ltd, AP Circle, Mr Elango T, said: "The fixed line market is currently underserved, especially in smaller towns and villages, largely on account of inadequate infrastructure.

Through Airtel Mega, we intend to make available home phones to all customers."
