RAIN IMPACT: A plantation worker plucking tea leaves, undaunted by heavy rains in Valparai, Kerala. Torrential rains and high velocity winds in the tea-growing areas in South India have led to production fall throughout the country. The all-India production during January-April 2006 was 154.4 mkg against 164.8 mkg in the corresponding period last year.
