Silver prices fell further, while gold declined marginally on the local bullion market on Monday following weak overseas market coupled with poor buying.

Standard gold prices were down Rs 90 at Rs 9,360 per 10 gm from Rs 9,450 per 10 gm. Pure gold (99.99 fineness) was down Rs 90 at Rs 9,410 per 10 gm. Silver (.999 fineness) price was down Rs 220 to close at Rs 17,650 from Rs 17,870 a kg.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 17,480; retail silver (per gm): Rs 18.70; Standard gold: Rs 9,515; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 881.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 17,400; Gold ready: Rs 9,500.
