Hyderabad , July 5

Internet Security Systems, a $330-million Nasdaq-listed US security solutions provider, has partnered with Virtusa Corporation for outsourced product development work.

As a part of this arrangement, it is proposed to establish a centre of excellence for Internet Security Systems (ISS), at Virtusa's Hyderabad Advanced Technology Centre, which will host about 100 people exclusively for ISS.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Vice-President, Engineering of ISS, Mr Heath Thompson, said "one of the challenges for a rapidly growing security solutions provider is to bring out new products to the market faster. Through this association with Virtusa, we expect to tap both the local talent and Virtusa's product development expertise."

The General Manager of Virtusa Corporation, Dr Santanu Paul, said the company currently hosts several product development teams for companies such as Pega and Vignette, and this would be another addition to product development teams based in Hyderabad.

Mr Thomson said that ISS was working with Virtusa for the past three years and is now seeking to expand the engagement, in terms of product development work for the changing security market and also provide outsourced management security work.
