Rupee ends at 46.06/07

The rupee took a dramatic turn during the day but ended unchanged. It opened at 45.96/98 and even appreciated to 45.94 during the day but slid down to close at 46.06/07. On Friday, the rupee ended at 46.05. Dealers said that there was a strong demand for dollars from several domestic oil companies which impacted the domestic currency. The US currency also strengthened slightly against other global currencies, especially yen. The session was quite choppy during the later part on account of heavy rains in Mumbai, he said. In the forward premia market, the six-month closed at 0.97 per cent (1.1 per cent) and the 12-month at 1.12 per cent (1.22 per cent).
