The Kolkata-based Pecon Software Ltd has announced the setting up of a business process outsourcing (BPO) centre at the Salt Lake Electronics Complex here at a total investment of Rs 25 crore. While initially the BPO centre would be a 60-seater call centre, operations therein would be ramped up to 200 seats within the next 2-3 years.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Mahesh Shah, Managing Director of the Pecon Group, said the group had two companies under its fold.

While Pecon Infotech was engaged in providing IT solutions, Pecon Software was engaged in providing customised software solutions and applications and IT enabled services. Within the next six months, Pecon Software would scale up its capabilities to offer knowledge processed outsourcing (KPO) solutions as well.

Mr Shah said for its BPO operations Pecon Software had bagged firm orders from telecom, mortgage, entertainment and insurance companies based in the US.
