Letters Unorganised sector
It was heartening to read "Providing social security to unorganised workers" (Business Line, June 27). Labour unions in Left-ruled Kerala and West Bengal have been trying to provide social security to workers. In other States, efforts to establish unions have often been met with resistance from the ruling parties and the enterprises that employ them. Without these workers, India would not have achieved the present pace of industrial growth. The Government should implement the proposals submitted by the National Commission for Enterprises in Unorganised Sector. Aboobacker Ziddhique Bangalore
