BHEL holds UP on weak day

Reports that the Uttar Pradesh Government is likely to place orders worth Rs 2,448 crore with BHEL helped the counter hold reasonably firm in an otherwise weak market on Monday.

BHEL is to supply equipment for four 250 MW thermal power units in Pariccha and Harduaganj thermal power stations. The Pariccha unit is expected to commence generation in 34 months while the Harduaganj unit should commence generation in 39 months.

BHEL is expected to supply boilers, turbines, and generators, for capacity expansion at these two thermal stations. The stock ended 1.95 per cent weak at Rs 1,836 on the BSE.
