Mergers & Acquisitions Aptech acquires aviation training co Our Bureau
Mumbai , June 22
Aptech Ltd has acquired a Pune-based company Avalon Aviation Academy for an undisclosed amount, adding aviation training to its learning solutions portfolio. Aptech has also instituted a new centre at Andheri in Mumbai. "Aptech aspires to provide training in more such verticals other than IT and Multimedia. Aviation and Hospitality vertical is at an inflection point. Aptech has adopted a partnership model to tap the opportunity in this vertical. Aptech intends to leverage its capabilities in Education and Training, and especially its sound franchising model to take Aviation and Hospitality training across the country," said Mr Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, Aptech Ltd. Aptech plans to take the Avalon Aviation Academy to Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Bangalore in the first phase and plans to establish 15 centres in 2006. The Academy already has two centres in Pune, said Mr Pramod Khera, CEO and Managing Director, Aptech.
