Aluminium prices cut by Rs 8,000/t

Nalco, Hindalco bring down prices following weak LME trends

Mumbai, June 15

National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) and Hindalco Industries Ltd have reduced their aluminium product prices by Rs 8,000 a tonne for the current month, in line with global prices. Nalco and Hindalco had increased their prices by around Rs 8,000-10,000 a tonne, earlier this month.

"Following weak London Metal Exchange (LME) trends, prices have been revised downward. Aluminium prices at LME were down by $150 per tonne, since the beginning of the month," a local trader said. Local prices of aluminium ingot were also down by Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,32,000 a tonne on Thursday, from Rs 1,42,000 at the beginning of the month.
