Our Bureau

To beef up ERP skills

Bangalore, June 12

Scandent Solutions Corporation Ltd said on Monday that its US subsidiary Scandent Group Inc has acquired Nexplicit, a provider of SAP (systems applications and product) services in a $12 million cash deal. Nexplicit, an SAP Vertical Solution Reseller (VSR), is also an authorised SAP business partner.

Nexplicit, with revenues of $13 million, focuses on the entertainment and high-technology manufacturing industries. "Part of the $12-million cash will be paid upfront and the rest through earn-outs over a period of time," said Mr Pradeep Chaudhry, CFO, Scandent. The company proposes to fund this acquisition mostly from the internal accruals, he said.

Following the acquisition announcement, Scandent shares closed about 11 per cent higher on Monday on the BSE at Rs 122.9 amidst weak overall condition.

"SAP continues to dominate the enterprise solutions market and we are delighted to augment our presence in this area with the acquisition of Nexplicit, a SAP consulting partner with an American blue chip client base," said Mr Dilip Keshu, Scandent's chief strategy and corporate development officer.

Nexplicit focuses on providing staff augmentation, solutions development, implementation and support on SAP application systems.
