Hyderabad , June 8

Blue Dart, a leading express company in the country, has announced its "outbound gateway" at Hyderabad, connecting the city with top cargo hubs such as Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday to announce the launch, Mr Malcolm Monterio, Managing Director of Blue Dart Express, said the company could leverage on the latest acquisition of two Boeing 757s to offer outbound services to Hyderabad.

The company, which claimed a 39 per cent market share in the country, now has a fleet of seven Boeing freighters.

Stating that the South is one of the largest contributors to the company's cargo volumes, he said the company had chalked out a Rs 25-crore expansion plan for the year. It plans to add 45 facilities to the existing 217 across the country. Of these, 14 would come up in the South, including one each at Vijayawada and Hi-Tech City in Hyderabad.

The company hopes that the outbound facility from Hyderabad would help it tap the potential in segments such as IT and pharmaceuticals.
