Tally in pact with TNOU

Tally (India) Ltd, a vocational education provider, announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU), to jointly provide a certificate programme in accounting software.
Mr M.G. Gopi, General Manager and Sales head for South Asia - Education and Training Business, Tally, said the course would be for six months in accounts and finance. Since Tally is a software provider for 18 lakh companies, especially in the small and medium enterprises sector, the need for Tally professionals is high.
The company has 145 academies in Tamil Nadu, a select few of which would be used for this course. Mr Gopi said he expects an added intake of 10-15 students in the academies offering the course.
Prof. M. S. Palanichamy, Vice Chancellor, TNOU, said the course fee would be Rs 6,300 and that the prescribed qualification requires the candidate to have passed 12th standard. He said the TNOU, would look to provide vocational training to both urban and rural students.
