Fixed Deposits Canara Bank, SBT hike deposit rates Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram , June 2 State Bank of Travancore (SBT) and Canara Bank have announced hike in FCNR, NRE term and RFC deposits. The new rates are applicable from June 1 in the case of Canara Bank while it is June 2 for SBT. SBT has raised NRE term deposit rates for periods from one year to less than three years to 5.43 per cent and for three years till five years to 6.45 per cent. RFC deposits in dollars will attract 5.43 per cent for periods of one year to less than three years and 5.45 per cent for three years.
Canara Bank
Canara Bank has said the new NRE term deposit rates will be 6.43 per cent for one year and above but less than three years; and 6.45 per cent for three years only. RFC dollar rates starts with 3.75 per cent for savings but go up to 5.45 per cent for three years only. The respective rates for Pound Sterling deposits are 3.00 per cent and 5.08 per cent, while it will be 1.30 and 3.73 for euro deposits.
