Outsourcing Accenture opens 5th centre in Pune Our Bureau
Pune , June 1 Management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, Accenture on Thursday launched its ninth technology delivery centre here and said it would kick off a 1,600 seater facility in the city by September. The centre will provide application outsourcing and systems integration services across the full range of technology capabilities and will develop capabilities in enterprise technologies such as SAP, Siebel, net centric technologies such as Java and Microsoft, business intelligence and testing. It is the company's Acccenture's fifth centre in India after Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad and will further strengthen its position as the flagship of its global delivery network, Mr Sandeep Arora, Lead Executive, Delivery Centres for Technology, India, told newspersons here.

Accenture, meanwhile, plans to have 50,000 people on board its global delivery network spanning the Phillipines, China and India by 2008, from its current level of 24,000, Mr Arora said, adding India would be the largest contributor towards this target. The recruitment growth in India has been at an aggressive pace over the last few years, starting from 4,000 when it commenced its first delivery centre in 2001 to 17,500 people in February 2006. "We have seen a 60 per cent growth rate last year and hope to achieve a growth rate of between 50-55 per cent this year too,'' Mr Arora said.
