Events Spices Board to attend 12 global food fairs Our Bureau
Kochi , June 1 The Spices Board will participate in 12 international food fairs during the current financial year. Every year, the Board participates in around 8-10 fairs to promote spices and spices-based products of Indian origin. It also organises cooking demonstrations in major buying countries in collaboration with leading restaurants, as part of their market promotion programme, according to Board sources. For the current financial year, the Board is planning to participate in the following international food fairs through the Indian Trade Promotion Office: SIAL China 2006 in Shanghai, China (May 29-31, 2006); World Food in Moscow, Russia (September 20-23, 2006); SIAL 2006 in Paris, France (October 22-26, 2006); and Foodex 2007 in Tokyo, Japan (March 13-16 2007). The Board, together with Indian exporters of spices-based products, will also have its direct participation at some of the following fairs: Organic Expo 2006 in Sydney, (July 21-23 2006); IFT FOOD EXPO 2006 in Orlando, US (July 22-26, 2006); Fine Food Australia in Melbourne.
