BHEL Q4 net up 62 pc

BHEL today reported a 62.45 per cent jump in net profit during the fourth quarter of 2005-06 to Rs 868 crore from Rs 534.3 crore in the corresponding previous period.

Net sales rose 26 per cent to Rs 6,070.6 crore (Rs 4,814.4 crore), BHEL said in a release.

The board of directors also approved a final dividend of 20 per cent for 2005-06, taking the total dividend in the year to 145 per cent. This includes an interim dividend of 40 per cent and a special dividend of 85 per cent.

Net profit for the year rose by 76.12 per cent to Rs 1,679.2 crore (Rs 953.4 crore). Net sales increased by 38.48 per cent to Rs 14,587.3 crore (Rs 10,533.4 crore).
