New Delhi, May 23

SpiceJet, as a part of its first anniversary celebrations, has offered 21,000 seats at Rs 99 per seat. The offer opened on Monday morning and is available on the company Web site. The response to this offering was so overwhelming that all the 21,000 seats were sold by the evening. According to a release, reacting to the overwhelming response Mr Ajay Singh, Director, SpiceJet, said, "SpiceJet has received a huge response to its anniversary offer today with over 55 million hits on the Web site, which is unprecedented and was beyond expectations. The response was so huge that the entire booking process on Internet was affected and slowed down. However, the call centre was normal. SpiceJet's anniversary offer got over by the evening. SpiceJet, while appreciating the huge response from its customers, regretted that many customers could not avail the offer due to over booking. SpiceJet will continue to offer such great value offers from time to time."
