Future plans ITC Infotech aims to expand manpower capacity to employ 100 people in Alabama in the next three years. It also proposes to sponsor internship programmes at Indian colleges for students from leading Alabama technology institutes.
Kolkata , May 22 ITC Infotech, a $60-million fully owned subsidiary of ITC Ltd, employing more than 4,000 people, has announced the launch of its operations in Alabama, US. The office of ITC Infotech, a company growing at a compounded annual rate of more than 60 per cent over the last three years, will be headquartered in the city of Birmingham. The company, according to an official statement issued here on Friday, has entered into an alliance with AK-Global Solutions Inc, a business consultant, providing strategic integrated solutions to better manage talent pool, technology and expertise.
Multi-ethnic environment
Targeting rapid growth in topline and staffing numbers, ITC Infotech aims to expand its manpower capacity to employ 100 people in Alabama in the next three years. The company also proposes to sponsor internship programmes at Indian colleges for students from leading Alabama technology institutes in order to bridge cultural gaps and promote a multi-ethnic work environment. Speaking at the inauguration of the `Alabama-India Business Partnership' recently, Mr Ashwani Rishi, President of ITC Infotech, US, said, "We are confident that the company's unique advantage in IT-related services will enable it to be the preferred partner for businesses across Alabama."
Growth strategy
Commenting on the growth strategy, Mr Khem Aithani, Vice-President, Key Accounts, ITC Infotech, India, said: "In addition to growing organically in the business-vertical mandate that we have set for ourselves, we are also looking at partnering with mid-size and local players that bring complementary culture and vertical strengths." Mr Anil Agarwal, President, AK-Global Solutions Inc, said: "We are proud to partner ITC Infotech and complement their competitive edge and profitability."In addition to IT solutions for global customers, services and co-sourcing, ITC Infotech has a joint venture with ClientLogic in the BPO space.
