Youth power

This is with reference to "Youth power in India's resurgence" (Business Line, May 11): Senior citizens need not have any guilty conscience about development.

What we have achieved today is perhaps beyond our dreams in many respects. Today, there are villages with good roads, bus service, health-care and education facilities, tap water and so on.

We have modern amenities including phone connection and computers. Power supply is an important factor. What we need is to spread the benefits to reach every nook and corner of the country. We need action on two fronts — bring children and youth of all villages into the main stream through quality education and develop skills. If we aim big we will achieve big.

A. Jacob Sahayam
