Precious metals rise further

Mumbai , May 12

Precious metals firmed up further on the local bullion market on Friday.

Standard gold prices were up Rs 280 to end at Rs 10,665 per 10 gm from Rs 10,385. Pure gold (99.99) was up Rs 275 at Rs 10,715 from Rs 10,440.

Silver (.999 fineness) price was up Rs 495 to close at Rs 21,915 from Rs 20,420 a kg.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 22,490; retail silver (per gm): Rs 24.05; Standard gold: Rs 10,730; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 994.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 21,000; Gold ready: Rs 10,840.
