Kochi, April 26

The Kochi-based National Institute of Fire Engineering (NIFE), offering diploma in fire and safety engineering, has tied up with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and WSO (World Safety Organisation) to enhance the power of certification of the institute. OSHA is a course conducted by the US Department of Labour through its South West Education centre in association with the Texas A&M University system. Mr Dennis Vaughan, a safety manager of Abu Dhabi international airport, who is an authorised trainer of OSHA programmes, would be conducting classes at NIFE centre at Kochi. Mr M.V. Thomas, Director, NIFE said that the tie up with OSHA and WSO has been made so as to increase the chance of job for the students passing out from the institute.
