Precious metals slip further

Mumbai, April 25

Precious metals continued to rule lower on the local bullion market on Tuesday due to continued offerings against stray buying interest coupled with weak overseas market. Silver (.999 fineness) spot was down Rs 1,135 at Rs 20,045 a kg over previous close. Pure gold prices were down Rs 85 at Rs 9,215 for 10 gm. Standard mint prices were down Rs 85 at Rs 9,265 for 10 gm.

CHENNAI: Bar silver Rs 18,855 a kg; retail silver Rs 20.20 a gm; standard gold Rs 9,325 for 10 gm; ornament 22-carat gold Rs 863 a gm.
