Human Resources TCS to recruit more in Hyderabad Our Bureau
Hyderabad , April 24 The $3-billion Tata Consultancy Services Ltd has announced plans for a major expansion in Hyderabad that would see the company expanding its headcount from about 4,200 to 10,000 by 2010. Speaking at the foundation laying function of its Synergy Park, the Chief Executive Officer of TCS, Mr S. Ramadorai, said this park symbolises the collaboration of TCS and CMC in delivering IT solutions to customers. He said there was no plan to merge CMC with TCS. They would function as separate entities, but synergise strengths when required in new areas of business, he told newspersons. Mr Ramadorai said during fiscal 2006-07, TCS plans to recruit about 30,000 people (4,000 abroad). A significant per centage of them would be in new centres, which could be Indore, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswaretc. "We will actively look at Visakhapatnam Centre," he said in response to the Chief Minister's request. The company expects to invest about Rs 1,000 crore during the year, with investments in Hyderabad being substantial. On overseas listing, he said, "We are constantly evaluating and would possibly list overseas at an opportune time. No specific deadline has been set".
