`World of opportunities beckons entrepreneurs'

A.J. Vinayak

Nitte (Udupi district) , April 12

There are more opportunities for the entrepreneurs to make a mark in a global market, according to Mr B. Sambamurthy, Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank.

Inaugurating a two-day entrepreneurship development camp organised by the entrepreneurship development cell of Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology at the Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management at Nitte in Udupi district, he said: "There are more opportunities to develop in a competitive world than to worry about the intensity of competition."

Hallmark

Citing the instances of a few successful entrepreneurs, he said that spontaneous creativity is their hallmark. Such entrepreneurs have the ability to take decision without full data and have the will to take risks.

A successful entrepreneur should have the ability to produce at a high-value product at lowest cost and at fastest rate.

An entrepreneur should be ready to accept failures in the initial stages if he wants to become successful in his career, he added.

Dr N.K. Thingalaya, former Chairman and Managing Director of Syndicate Bank, who presided over the programme, said that a successful entrepreneur should have conscious decision-making capacity.

Apart from taking independent decisions, the person should have perseverance to reach the goal and the tenacity to own responsibility.

Integrity in dealings is essential for a person to become successful in his/her enterprise, he added.

Dr M.S. Moodithaya, Director of the Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, and Dr S.Y. Kulkarni, Principal of the Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology, spoke on the occasion.
