FACT sales revenue up

Our Bureau

Kochi , April 10

Total sales revenue of Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) at nearby Udhyogamandal has increased to Rs 1,400 crore (un-audited) last fiscal from Rs 1,215 crore in 2004-05.

The sales revenue from fertilisers has witnessed a steep rise touching Rs 1,045 crore during 2005-06 from Rs 728.27 crore the previous fiscal, according to an official press release here.

However, owing to fluctuations in international market, sale of captrolactam could not achieve the expected levels, otherwise rise in overall sales revenue would have been much higher, it said.

FACT sold around eight lakh tonnes of factamfos as against 5.30 lakh tonnes in 2004-05, registering an increase of 50 per cent. This quantum jump in the sale of factamfos on percentage basis is an all time high record, it said.

The total sale of fertilisers during the last fiscal stood at 9.82 lakh tonnes, which showed an increase of 1.97 lakh tonnes over the previous year.

Due to strong demand for ammonium sulphate in the domestic market, export of the product to foreign markers could not be taken up in a big way.
