Our Bureau

Mumbai , April 7

Bajaj Auto Ltd would decide the details of its proposed manufacturing facility in Indonesia, in a few months time.

Last month, while disclosing Rs 1,500-crore capital expenditure plan and phased hike in production capacity from 3.5 million units to 5.1 million units, the company had pointed to a major foray in markets outside India, among growth plans.

With good market share already in place in traditional markets such as Sri Lanka and Columbia, the new geographies it wanted to tap included Nigeria, Iran and South-East Asia. For the latter, a production facility in Indonesia had been cited as key for long.

"We should decide the details of the Indonesian facility within six months," Mr Madhur Bajaj, Vice-Chairman, BAL, said on the sidelines of a CII conference hereon Friday.
