Wanbury commissions plants in AP

Wanbury Ltd, the world's largest manufacturer of Metformin, a diabetes management product, announced that it has commissioned a new unit at its recently acquired facility at Tanuku in Andhra Pradesh. In a press release, the company said the commissioning marked the completion of the first phase of planned capacity expansion programme. In this phase, Wanbury would be manufacturing three high value products Sertraline, Paroxetine and Carvedilol, which have a strong market.
According to the company, the second phase of expansion would be completed by August in which 4-6 new products would be added to the existing product portfolio. With capacity expansion, estimated at a cost of Rs 25 crore, the company expected to add more than Rs 100 crore to its topline. The Tanuku facility has a multi product approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) and has also undergone plant inspections by leading MNCs for outsourcing various products.
