Hyderabad to host meet on oilmeal usage

Our Bureau

Mumbai , March 4

The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA), jointly with CLFMA of India (CLFMA) and American Soybean Association (ASA), has organised the 7th National Seminar for popularisation of oil meal usage in compound cattle, poultry and aqua feeds on April 16, at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.

The first session of the seminar is fully devoted on `Crisis management and prophylactic measures' to be undertaken in future. It also aims to focus on the need for use of compound feeds for better productivity of meat, milk, eggs, fish etc. and thereby discourage the wasteful uses of oilcakes, meals and whole cottonseed as direct feed.

Mr Raghuveera Reddy, Minister of Agriculture (Andhra Pradesh), has given his consent to be the `Guest of Honour'.

"We are expecting over 200 delegates and special invitees from all over the country consisting of oil meal manufacturers, manufacturers of compound cattle, poultry and aqua feeds, farmers, scientists, experts and senior officials from Union & State Governments connected with animal husbandry departments to participate in this seminar," according to SEA official.
