Nalco posts record sales

The National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) has established new records in production and sales during 2005-06, according to a company release.

The company achieved the highest-ever metal production of 3,58,955 tonnes compared to 3,38,483 tonnes during 2004-05. Alumina hydrate production of 15,90,000 tonnes is also a new record (5,75,500 tonnes). The company's power plant generated a record 5,678 million units (5,613 million units).

On the marketing front, the company achieved the highest ever domestic metal sale of 2,58,096 tonnes (2,05,797 tonnes). The company also sold a record quantity of 1,03,193 tonnes from its stockyards. During the year, eight stockyards were in operation in the country.
