Precious metals rise further

Mumbai , April 4

Precious metals firmed up further on the local bullion market on Tuesday on firm overseas markets.

Silver (.999 fineness) was up Rs 95 at Rs 17,525 per kg over previous close. Pure gold prices were up Rs 35 at Rs 8,575 per 10 gm. Standard mint prices were up Rs 35 at Rs 8,530 per 10 gm.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 17,680; retail silver (per gm): Rs 18.90; Standard gold: Rs 8,520; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 789.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 17,075; Gold ready: Rs 8,675.
