Hyderabad, March 30

Yet another airline is starting its operations in Hyderabad beginning April 11. Paramount Airways, the Coimbatore-based new airline, will start daily services connecting Hyderabad-Kochi-Hyderabad, Chennai-Bangalore-Chennai and Chennai-Madurai-Chennai. A Paramount executive told Business Line that the company would operate the 74-seater Brazilian aircraft Embraer 170 aircraft in these sectors. Stating that fares would be competitive, he said it would offer flexi fares and offer "business class services at prices comparable to economy class".

The fares for Hyderabad-Chennai would start at as low as Rs 2,220 and go up to Rs 6,240. The fares for the Hyderabad-Kochi sector would start Rs 5,670, the airline executive said. On booking tickets, he said besides the travel agents, the passengers themselves could book tickets online using their credit cards. The airline had started a campaign in the city to promote the new services.
