Rubber Rubber continues to stagnate Our Correspondent
Kottayam , March 30 Spot rubber continued to stagnate for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday. Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed unchanged at Rs 83.50 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as on Wednesday. Though there were certain sellers at quoted levels, the fag end of the financial year kept the trading activities almost paralysed. The market also lacked strong overseas guidance as international indices remained in a narrow range with out registering any sharp change in prices
Futures firm
The rubber futures firmed up on NMCE. The April contract was quoted at Rs 84 (Rs 83.58), May at Rs 86.44 (Rs 85.97); June contract at Rs 87.70 (Rs 87.33) and July contract at Rs 87.75 (Rs 87.45) per kg for RSS 4. The trading volumes were dull at 579 lots registering 79 lots in April RSS 3 was static at Rs 93.94 a kg at Bangkok spot. Spot rates a kg were: RSS-4 Rs 83.50 (Rs 83.50); RSS-5 Rs 82.50 (Rs 82.50); Ungraded Rs 81.50 (Rs 81.50); ISNR 20 Rs 82.25 (Rs 82.25); and Latex 60% (per litre) Rs 57 (Rs 57).
