`Concede demand for jetty'

Our Bureau

Visakhapatnam, March 29

The President of the Telugu Desam party and the former Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has urged the State Government to concede the demand of Gangavaram fishermen for construction of a fishing jetty at a place convenient for them and increase the ex-gratia for the family of the fisherman killed in Monday's firing from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Making these demands at a press meet here on Wednesday, Mr Naidu condemned the police action in the village on Monday and said it was brutal and uncalled for. He also found fault with the Chief Minister, the local legislator and other ministers for not even making a visit to the village.
