Cashing in on shortage

RISING EXPORTS: A farmer tending to his garlic crop at a farm in Munnar, Kerala. Garlic exports have increased on decline in production in other origins besides demand from Pakistan and Bangladesh. Exports in the 11 months of the current fiscal have increased to 28,250 tonnes valued at Rs 32.05 crore from a mere 1,943 tonnes valued at Rs 4.95 crore during the same period a year ago.
