Glenrothes to double market share

Our Bureau

Bangalore, March 22

The `Rolls Royce' of single malt whisky, Glenrothes is expected to double its market share to around 10 per cent in India in another three years.

"We have a 10-year view of our business in India," Mr Chris Burn, Regional Sales Director of Cutty Sark International, which owns the brand told Business Line. He said that the company will shortly introduce 1991 and 1995 vintages. He added that the company will hold whisky tasting sessions across the country to market the brand. The Speyside Single Malt was first bottled as the Glenrothes Vintage Malt 10 years ago. Till date a mere 15 vintages have been released in limited quantities. The Glenrothes is used as the top dressing, which gives charter and flavour to many premium scotch blends.
