Employment Delhi B-schools see 10 pc jump in salary offers Our Bureau
New Delhi , March 15 Job offers for business school students only get better. The average salary of the three leading Delhi-based colleges Management Development Institute (MDI), Delhi University's Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) and Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) for the 2004-2006 batch has grown by almost 10 per cent. The average salary at MDI for its Post Graduate Programme in Management stood at Rs 9.10 lakh per annum this year, up from Rs 8.32 lakh last year. FMS was not too far behind with the average salary for its full time MBA programme at Rs 8.9 lakh per annum against Rs 8.1 lakh a year before. In the case of IIFT, the average salary for its MBA in International Business programme moved up to Rs 8.1 lakh per annum this year from Rs 7.26 lakh clocked last year. The highest domestic salary for the white collars too was impressive. The highest domestic salary at FMS this year was offered by HSBC Bank at Rs 14.5 lakh per annum, while for MDI it was Rs 12.35 lakh per annum, offered by Air India. The highest domestic salary at IIFT was Rs 10.55 lakh per annum, offered by HP Global. As for the highest foreign salary, all the three institutes received offer this year from Olam International. The company offered $1,00,000 per annum at IIFT, while each of the other two institutes saw offers of $65,000 per year. While banking and finance companies emerged as the largest employers as a sector at MDI (38 per cent) and FMS (35 per cent), IT and telecom companies were the largest employers at IIFT (35 per cent).
