L&T completes ONGC project ahead of schedule

Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has completed a Rs 1,006-crore project for ONGC that was awarded in February 2004 and handed it over ahead of schedule.

The company said it had handed over RS8 nine-well platform project to ONGC on February 17, "setting a new record for offshore works in India." It did not specify how much ahead of schedule the completion happened. The turnkey project came with single point responsibility for the complete engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of the platforms which are for boosting oil output from Mumbai High South by around 2.15 mt per year and gas production by 3.87 million cubic metres per day.
