MeritTrac `assessment zone' in Hyderabad

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , March 13

MeritTrac Services, a skills assessment company, has opened an `assessment zone' here with infrastructure to conduct online tests, interviews and other tests.

Claimed to be the first assessment zone in the country signalling a new trend in human resources outsourcing domain, Mr Madan Padaki, Director of the company, said the zone could handle 750 assessments a day.

The ambience at the 3,000-sq ft zone was well suited to the brand image of its customers. The company would replicate the idea in cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai in the next three months at a cost of Rs five crore.

Stating that the company was neither a recruitment firm nor a training agency, Mr Madan said the company had tied up with Bharatiyar University to assess the skill sets of its students and identify lacunae.

The company had so far assessed over nine lakh candidates for 110 customers in sectors like information technology (IT), ITES (IT-enabled services), education and financial services. It assessed about 40,000 candidates a month.

It had plans to increase its manpower in the country to 600 from the present 250 this year.

In Hyderabad, the number would grow to 100 from 45.
