Jute Board Bill to be introduced

New Delhi, March 11

The Government has decided to introduce the national Jute Board Bill 2006 in Parliament during the current session. This will pave the way for creation of a national Jute Board (NJB) in Kolkata. The decision was taken at the meeting of the Cabinet recently, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Mr Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi, told reporters here. The objective of the board would be to coordinate and implement the programmes of the jute sector, he said.
