Mastek in pact with Euriware

Mumbai, March 10

The Mumbai based software services company Mastekhas targeted revenues of € 35 million ( Rs 185 crore ) in the first three years of its strategic partnership with Euriware, a wholly-owned subsidiary of French energy group Areva. Under the partnership, Mastek will create a dedicated software development centre for the French company in Mumbai that will support Euriware's initiatives to expand services to a global market.

Mr Ashank Desai, Chairman, Mastek Ltd, said the partnership kicked off Mastek's efforts to expand its European presence. The Indian industry, he said, was going through a period of change. First, it was looking at moving beyond doing business with the English speaking countries, and considering opportunities in continental Europe. Second, the industry was trying to move up the supply chain. To achieve these objectives, it was necessary that Indian companies took the partnership approach by tying up with a partner who knew the language and local work culture. The deal with Euriware was significant in that it would bring in these changes, Mr Desai said.
