Prakash Kamat

Panaji, March 10

The state-owned Goa State Horticulture Corporation Ltd (GSHCL) has decided to tie-up with Godrej Agrovet Ltd in its new venture to sell Mancorad mangoes in the three cities of Mumbai, Pune and New Delhi this season.

The plan is to help local mango producers\farmers market their seasonal produce more effectively and simultaneously to make available local mango, to Goans residing away from the State, at a reasonable price.

Mr S.S.P. Tendulkar, Deputy Director, Agriculture (Horticulture), told Business Line that Godrej Agrovet's Adhar retail outlets, which sell agro-products, agro-inputs and know-how to farmers in four-five cities in the country, would be utilised for the purpose. The venture is promoted this year on an experimental basis, he said.
